In Switzerland the law guarantees certain heirs a minimum share (forced share); the rest — the disposable portion — can be freely allocated by will. Since the inheritance-law reform that came into force on 1 January 2023, descendants' forced share dropped from 3/4 to 1/2 of their legal share, and parents no longer have one. legato computes the legal shares, forced shares and disposable portion based on your family situation and the estate value.
